The Black Widow started out as a KGB-Agent for her native Russia but was drawn into the superhero game through a clash with Iron Man. She has no natural superpowers, although she is a martial-arts master and an olympic-level athlete. She also wears a suit that is packed with gadgets.
Her costume gadgets give her the ability to climb walls and to swing with a 'widows-line'. Her most famous gadget/weapon is the 'Widow's Bite', an electronic discharge weapon that delivers a 30,000-volt charge that stuns her enemies.
Black Widow has belonged to many teams, including the Champions the Avengers. She has also partnered with several other heroes including Daredevil (whose lover she became for a while). She has also worked with SHIELD.
